The Government of Canada has completed the further national security review of the investment by TikTok Technology Canada Inc. (TikTok Canada) under the Investment Canada Act and has decided to permit the investment to proceed, subject to new legally binding undertakings provided by TikTok Canada.

The Government of Canada, by the Governor-in-Council, has ordered the dissolution of the Canadian businesses carried on by Bluvec Technologies Inc. and Pegauni Technology Inc., and for those companies to cease all operations in Canada.

The Government of Canada has ordered the divestiture of the following investments by foreign investors in Canadian critical mineral companies:

  • Sinomine (Hong Kong) Rare Metals Resources Co., Limited is required to divest itself of its investment in Power Metals Corp.
  • Chengze Lithium International Limited is required to divest itself of its investment in Lithium Chile Inc.
  • Zangge Mining Investment (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. is required to divest itself of its investment in Ultra Lithium Inc.
