Adoption of standard ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 (2024-11)

Notice is hereby given that Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) proposes to adopt the following standard:

•    ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 (2024-11) - 5 GHz WAS/RLAN; Harmonised Standard for access to radio spectrum

Under RSS-247 – Digital Transmission Systems, Frequency Hopping Systems and Licence-Exempt Local Area Network Devices in 902-928 MHz, 2400-2483.5 MHz, 5150-5350 MHz, and 5470-5895 MHz bands, ETSI EN 301 893 is currently accepted as an alternative to KDB 905462 for Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) testing, except in the 5600-5650 MHz band, where it is the only accepted method.

ISED proposes a six-month transition period during which either ETSI EN 301 893 V1.8.1 (2015-03) or ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 (2024-11) may be used to demonstrate compliance with ISED’s dynamic frequency selection (DFS) requirements. After the transition period, new certifications shall use ETSI EN 301 893 V2.2.1 (2024-11). The updated standard provides additional information for client devices with radar detection.
