What you’ll need before registering
New licence or certificate holders or applicants
You will be asked to provide your 9-digit Business Number issued by the Canada Revenue Agency. Provide this if it is known.
You will also have the opportunity to attach relevant company information (e.g. certificate of incorporation) to your submission.
Once your submission is reviewed and approved, access to SMS will be granted within 5 business days.
Existing licence or certificate holders or applicants
You will be asked to provide your 12-digit account number and your 6-character alphanumeric shared secret.

Access to SMS will be granted automatically.
Agents/consultants
You will be asked to provide the ISED-ISDE3052 - Retention of an Agent form signed by your company and the account holder.
Once your submission is reviewed and approved, access to SMS will be granted within 5 business days.
New applicants - Radio equipment certification/terminal registration
This option allows companies to obtain a new Company Number (CN) or need an additional CN for a new location to an existing company.
If you are unsure if you already have a company number, use the Company Name Search to verify.
Canadian companies must provide 9-digit Business Number issued by the Canada Revenue Agency. Once a submission for CN is reviewed and approved, access to SMS will be granted within 5 business days.
Once your submission is reviewed and approved, access to SMS will be granted within 5 business days.
Existing applicants - Radio equipment certification/terminal registration
This option allows a new user to link to an existing Company Number (CN). For this, the user shall provide the existing CN and Shared Secret (6-character alphanumeric).
Access to SMS will be granted automatically.
Agent - Radio equipment certification/terminal registration
This option allows an agent to request a new company number or link their account to an existing company number.
The agent shall provide a Power Of Attorney (POA) agreement with the intended client.
Once your submission is reviewed and approved, access to SMS will be granted within 5 business days. After which, the agent will be able to submit certification application(s) to ISED on behalf of their client(s).
