Information on how to cancel a broadcasting certificate.
Before you request to cancel broadcasting certificate
It is important to note that a CRTC Broadcasting Decision to revoke, cancel or delete a rebroadcasting transmitter from a station does not automatically cancel the Broadcasting Certificate. ISED still needs to be notified separately.
Broadcasting Certificate Cancellation Process
The certificate cancellation process is carried out via email.
- Send an email to the Department at the following address:
- The email shall include the following information
- The name of the certificate holder (i.e.: the Broadcaster)
- The call sign of the station,
- The cancellation reason (for example the station is no longer operational, the CRTC licence has been revoked, etc.)
- Effective date of the cancelation
- Any other information you feel is pertinent.
Once the changes have been completed by ISED, an email will be sent confirming the cancellation has been processed.
Broadcasters can access their broadcasting certificate online using View or Print your Certificate on our Broadcasting Services page.
