From March 31 to April 4, 2025, Canada took centre stage as the 2025 partner country for Hannover Messe, the world's leading trade show for industrial technology.

The Honourable Stéphane Dion, Ambassador of Canada to France and Monaco and Special Envoy to the European Union and Europe, led Team Canada as the head of the Canadian delegation at Hannover Messe.

About the event

The world's largest industrial trade fair and conference takes place every spring in Hanover, Germany, with decision makers from around the globe showcasing industrial trends and transformations that will propel the world forward.

During Hannover Messe, companies show how they are leading the way in digital advancements, industrial transformation, clean technologies and resilient supply chains. Governments, academic institutions and businesses, from startups to large corporations, gather to share their leading-edge innovations with a global audience to spur international investment and strengthen, grow and build international relations.

Canada had the honour of hosting five exhibition halls as well as offering insightful panels, vibrant cultural programming and culinary experiences. Here are some highlights:

Hall 7, the Automation, Robotics and Drives pavilion, featured Canada's state-of-the-art robotic systems, intelligent automation solutions and the latest in EV technology. Attendees had the opportunity to meet a robot goalie and witness a live mechatronics contest.

Hall 2, the National Innovation Ecosystems pavilion, showcased the groundbreaking work of Canadian universities, research institutions and industry leaders that are at the forefront of technological innovation. Attendees had the chance to visit Qubit, an immersive quantum experience.

Canada was the first partner country to be actively engaged in the programming of the FEMWORX conference, a two-day career congress for female leadership in the STEM sector, highlighting our commitment to inclusive growth.

The Renewables Dialogue event brought together thought leaders and innovators from Canada and Germany to discuss advancements in renewable energy technologies like hydrogen and in carbon capture technologies.
