Cleantech engagement team

The cleantech engagement team supports cleantech companies and project proponents by helping them navigate federal tools, programs, and services.

We help innovators and developers find Government of Canada supports that suit their needs, with a focus on supporting a competitive, low‑carbon economy.

Please note that our team offers advisory services and does not provide funding.

Who can benefit from these services?

Our advisory services are aimed at organizations that are program-ready.

What does program-ready mean?

  • You have a registered business or company
  • Your cleantech project's technology is at Technical Readiness Level (TRL) 3 or higher (beyond the idea stage)
  • Your project has a defined timeline that will result in the creation of a unique product or service
  • You own the intellectual property (IP) or have an IP strategy (when developing a technology)
  • You have a business plan
  • You need guidance on federal programs and services to help advance your cleantech project

To work with our team, you must:

  • acknowledge that Government of Canada employees have the responsibility to adhere to the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector and have the right to a safe and respectful workplace environment founded on respect, dignity and inclusiveness; and
  • acknowledge that your organization and its employees will communicate respectfully and display professional behaviour at all times when communicating with the Cleantech Engagement Team.

You can contact the cleantech engagement team at cleantech-technopropre@ised-isde.gc.ca.

To help us direct you to the federal programs and services that best align with your project or company, please include:

  • your company information (business registration number and full‑time equivalent employees)
  • a brief project description (including an overview of your technology and its environmental benefits)
  • your specific needs (for instance: assistance with patents, project financing, hiring, finding partners, purchasing equipment)
  • federal programs with which you are currently in discussions, if any
